Prime Minister welcomes Test Cricket Delegations to Saint Lucia

PRESS RELEASE:-The Government of Saint Lucia on behalf of the people of Saint Lucia would like to extend a warm welcome to the West Indies and Indian cricket delegations that are due to arrive in Saint Lucia shortly, for the third Test Match at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium.

Honourable Allen M. Chastanet received the news of the Test Match with great enthusiasm. “As Prime Minister, I was most impressed with the support that our Zouks team got in the recent CPL matches and likewise, we are appealing to the public to give that same level of support to the West Indies Test team.”

Prime Minister Chastanet commented further that: “As a Test playing nation we are in our early stages of hosting Test cricket and this will be our fifth Test Match, but in order to attract more Test cricket, the West Indies Cricket Board will be looking at fan turnout as a major deciding factor”.

This will be the first Test Match to the hosted at the stadium since the recent renaming ceremony of the Beausejour Cricket Grounds to the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium on July 21, 2016.

The Windies and India encounter begins from the 9th and concludes on the 13th of August.
