Relative In Shock After Fatal Shooting Of Anse La Raye Resident

A relative of the Anse La Raye resident who was gunned down on Thursday night in Jacmel, has expressed shock at his murder, declaring that the deceased – Jonathan Ben, 29, was a quiet person who was not known to be in trouble with anyone.

“My uncle was a very quiet –  a nice person, friendly. I don’t know my uncle to be in any problem with any gang or anything of that sort,” Nancy Ben told St Lucia Times.

Nancy recalled that she was at her home when a friend called with the news that her uncle had been shot.

According to the police, the 29 year old deceased was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Reports from Jacmel where Ben was killed indicate that a shooter emerged from some bushes and shot him multiple times about 9.00 pm in full view of onlookers before fleeing.

Police say they are pursuing several leads in connection with the fatal shooting, but have not yet made any arrests.
