Relatives: Deceased was in ‘high spirits’ before reported suicide

Relatives and friends of  Isaiah Epiphane Lewis, 28,  say they are in shock following reports that he committed suicide Monday night at L’anse Road.

Epiphane’s sister remembered him as a jovial person who loved life.

“He loved people – he liked teasing. He loved giving  jokes,” she recalled.

Another relative said Epiphane’s death had devastated the family.

“He was in high spirits – the last time I saw him was on Saturday and he was in high spirits – very high spirits. So I don’t know. I don’t know what went down. No sign, nothing like that. That has shaken the whole family here and overseas, because nobody expected that would happen,” the relative said.

Carlton, a  friend of the deceased, said he never thought Epiphane was the sort of person who would take his own life.

“I never thought that would happen. I knew him for so long, I never thought he would be in that state of mind,” Carlton stated.

According to reports Epiphane, a keep fit enthusiast, was found hanging  at around in a house that he recently rented.
