Saint Lucia Aiming For More UK Arrivals

Saint Lucia is hoping to continue building on an increase in arrivals from the United Kingdom tourist market, it has been announced.

In making the announcement, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet noted Sunday on his official Facebook page that this country has so far enjoyed a 6.5% increase in arrivals (Year to Date: June 2019) from the UK.

“We are hoping to continue building on this growth as we strengthen collaborations with our tourism partners across the UK,” Chastanet stated.

The former Tourism Minister  disclosed that over the next few days, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority will be hosting Saint Lucia’s 9th Annual UK Showcase for over 200 Travel Industry specialists in the United Kingdom.

“Today, we kicked off the 2019 Showcase with a Charity Cricket match titled “Bat for a Cause” which is hosted by Minister of Tourism Hon. Dominic Fedee and aims to raise funds for the Saint Lucia Diabetes Project UK,” Chastanet said.

He explained that throughout the week, Saint Lucia’s tourism officials will engage with UK industry partners during a series of meetings, conferences and networking events as they share some of the exciting updates and developments which are happening in Saint Lucia.

The United Kingdom is Saint Lucia’s second largest tourist market.
