Press Release: As of August 14, Saint Lucia was rated first in the Caribbean for the national COVID-19 response. Saint Lucia had a rating of 1.40 in a comparative data analysis.
In a comparative data analysis of confirmed COVID-19 cases per ten thousand population in the Caribbean, Saint Lucia had a rating of 1.40. The island has registered a 100 percent recovery of the recorded 25 positive cases of COVID-19, with zero deaths.
Minister for Health and Wellness, Sen. Mary Isaac, said this achievement is owed in large measure to the cooperation of citizens. She also cautioned that while the island’s borders are open to international travel including countries considered hot spots, illegal travel from neighboring islands can compromise the fight against the pandemic.
