Press Release:- The Management of St. James’s Club Morgan Bay and the National Workers Union (NWU) have agreed on a Severance Package payment for over four hundred (400) workers formerly employed with the hotel.
Legally the workers were formally severed on July 31, 2020.
About two million, two hundred and thirty thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars ($2,230,000.00) will be paid out to the employees over an extended period as the workers will be paid in groups, each of which will receive the total amounts due.
The Union and the Company agreed that as soon as the hotel reopens all employees, based on occupancy levels, will be given an opportunity to apply for a position within the operations.
The NWU is pleased with the arrangements bearing in mind that the employees are under serious economic pain.
