Tropical Storm Dorian is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Wednesday, forecasters said Sunday as the system headed toward the Caribbean.
Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Barbados are already on storm watch.
The eye of the storm was reported to be about 430 miles east-southeast of Barbados on Sunday afternoon.
The National Hurricane Center said Dorian was packing winds of 40 mph with an expected strengthening as it nears the Caribbean.
Dorian is the named fourth tropical storm this hurricane season.
According to the Weather Channel, on its predicted path, Dorian will approach the Windward Islands in the southern Lesser Antilles by late Monday or early Tuesday.
Dorian continues to be a rather small tropical storm, and that makes its intensity forecast uncertain, the Weather Channel stated.
