Prime Minister Allen Chastanet  briefly participated in the carnival Monday jump up.

A video posted on social media shows him jumping up among female carnival revellers.

According to reports, the sixteen second recording was made at Vigie when Chastanet joined Xuvo carnival band.

Earlier on his official Facebook page, he had highlighted the need for safety as Saint Lucians celebrate carnival.

Chastanet  had wished all carnival bands, revelers and spectators a safe and enjoyable two days of partying that began on Carnival Monday.

“Always remember that your safety and that of those around you comes first,” he wrote.

  1. Jump high jump low he will still lose the next general elections and brought before the courts for corruption

    • In your mouth and mind that is.you personally will take him to court you personally will vote him out idiot.

      • You are a hungry man who support the prime minster what have you benefit from his fiscal policies he will lose the general elections

    • Zabo, you member of the 43% preschool Club, what is wrong is the hypocrisy of the leader of your club. He never before cared to jump with the masses. What was this year’s jump about? Was he celebrating the poor state of health care, the many lies he tells the nation, the $30 million loan of our pension money to a foreign national, Guy’s misuse of the nation’s money, Ubaldus’ indiscretions, the millions of dollars given to sandals, the millions given to Ernst and Young to do the work of a well staffed Ministry of Finance, the $32 million given to a foreign national to advice on sports facilities, the rising crime (especially murders), the Wipay fiasco, the sell out of the public servants by Spiders best friend( Chicot) and wanna be candidate Laure, the withholding of funds from blind welfare association, the country’s rising debt through careless government borrowing, disrespecting the constitution by refusing to appoint a deputy speaker of the House, the unprecedented appointment of a Minister’s wife on the teaching service commission, paying Ubaldus’ wife $25,000 dollars a month consultancy, paying Rufina $16,000 dollars a month consultancy to education, threatening to break down our national monuments, withholding funds from National trusts, referring to St. Lucians as “jackasses”, being the only one to know that cock lay eggs (lol), insulting our calypsonians, insulting young mothers, insulting our men by saying that 43% of them only have preschool education, lying about the unemployment figures, appointing half dead Cenac as GG, refusing to grant our hard working nurses tenure in our health services which is causing them to leave, referring to people as “barking dogs”, destroying jazz festival? If you can tell me which one (s) of the foregoing he is jumping up to, I will tell you “wa round(although preschooler Zabo I think you wanted to say wrong) wid dat”.

  2. Hope the few minutes of jump up was genuine and not a photo up for the next election. Well said ‘yes side’, people have no idea that the country is run by consultants paid hearty sums of money to do what the elected officials should be doing. For those in the dark just look up Ernst and Young for they are part and parcel of who’s making the decisions for us

  3. Why can’t you lucians put politics aside for a moment and have fun . slp / uwp life goes on . they both will make bad decisions .

    • Tim I do agree to an extent. But this could very well be a calculated attempt by the pm to show that he is with the people. It is what it is a photo up to show he cares. Knowing the pm, what are his motives. How long did his jump up sting last? It’s all politics, can’t take politics out of politics.

  4. The white man was jumping with the mothers and the grand mothers of the criminals. Some niggers will always be afraid of whites.

  5. Anything for a vote..what UTTER DESPERATION!! Lord putta hand, St Lucia is going straight to hell….head first!!!

  6. All what u stupid black son of A …. Will see is that the white man prevail with victory again and again make he’s carnival celebration a problem to y’all stin king useless self

    • Batt chow zout, first what a name to choose. It speaks volume of your poor state of mind. By choosing that name you admit you are a “Chow”. Although had you been above preschool level you would spell it “Chew”. Not even you name you can spell correctly. poor jab.
Secondly, I hope for your sake that you are white.
Thirdly learn to write. Time to graduate from the 43% preschool club with the PM as your leader. You clearly show you are part of the 43% by not spelling your name correctly and that incomprehensible (too big a word for you/) last sentence

  7. Long before the man was a pm the man and his father were always at calypso tents… So I don’t see the big deal with all those shitty comments.. there is a place a deposit time for everything… So chillax yourself after all the man is human.. choops

    • I agree with M …they never want the man to enjoy himself…you’ll complaining well why don’t you’ll go and be prime minister too uh smdh

      • Kenny was given worst treatment, everything negative was attributed to him. As a Prime Minister people will hold you accountable especially when you made huge promises like Chastanet. If he keep his promises people would be on his back

  8. Chastnet was the first one to raise the carnival monies to a million and now he has taken it up to 3million so he more than deserves the right to jump up and enjoy himself cause he’s the one who see where the carnival can take us and what it can be in the future so all who vex choke. And I thought racism was a thing of the past but I guess small minded people always try to bring things back.

    • Real talk, you are a damn fool to think that racism is a thing of the past. In which world do you live. You only defending him because he is white. Where were you when that white man referred to black people as jackasses and barking dogs? Did you comment?
Then M and @M you all commenting that people are commenting. So you can comment about them commenting because they must not comment. Well I commenting on you commenting that they commenting and you can go ahead and comment because I commented.LMAO

  9. Why every thing in St.Lucia has to be politics? it is politics in the morning, in the afternoon and politics
at night. One side blame this side for spending money, the other side says but you did it first; will you
guys just grow up and find something beautiful about St.Lucia to talk about; go to Rat Island and take
some photos, go to the Pitons and climb to the top and I want to hear what you find; isn’t it amazing
that some folks spend thousands to fly all the way, then spends hundreds more to hike or to sail just
to enjoy the God given beauty of St.Lucia and all I read here or there, is bitching about this Party or the
other. Get a life, take a good book and go to the Beach and read, stop making a spectacular jackass of
yourselves, calling this Carnival then start complaining, government this government that, shut the hell up.

    • All the above does not reflects on the daily struggles of life for St Lucians on the ground. It’s beauty and the beast. In the back our heads we know it’s there but you cant enjoy it if you have to worry about your quality of life your sale of your country, your vested pension fund the criminality of our so call leaders who the hell has the time to go to the dam beach to read a book when it’s probably privately owned by a foreigner. “Go and clime the Pitons” the nerves St Lucian’s don’t have time for that we can’t afford to risk and worry at the same time

  10. In your mouth and mind that is.you personally will take him to court you personally will vote him out idiot.

  11. With all of these stupid comments by some of these stupid people ,St.Lucia is not worst off than it was when the SLP was in power. The pm has a vision for this country. But the SLP has no vision ,they can only see as far as the end of their nose .they were a government of hand out .l personally believed that the SLP is doing a better job in opposition. So I want them to remained in opposition.

    • Like first off, the murder rate has risen which is an undeniable fact. Gas prices has increased, VAT was reduced but the prices were raised much than the reduction benefiting business owners. So if you a large business owner things better for you. The average working man…… things are worse

  12. Well he has shares in the brewery where they make piton heineken and Guinness so at the end of the day is the elite and big businesmen who profit whiles the fools drink alcohol the prime minister is a fake and a put on a capitalist a ******* he will lose the next general election and taken to the courts. Issac Anthony and Matthew l mathurin as they are the ones who benefit from our money and not the working class the poor and blue collar workers we need to get dividends from the huge profits that the NIC making or else there will be war in this country the system is control by greedy men and women the establishment, lawyers and foreign expatriates
