Saint Lucia Recalls Ranitidine (Zantac)

Press Release:- The Ministry of Health and Wellness has been informed of the recent alerts by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for the voluntary recall of Ranitidine capsules/tablets by Sandoz and Apotex and Ranitidine (Zantac) tablets, liquid and injectable preparations from GlaxoSmithKline.

Our investigations have revealed that these medications from the affected manufacturers are not available in the public sector pharmacies.

They are not present at Victoria Hospital, St. Jude Hospital, District hospitals and the wellness centres.

However, in the private sector pharmacies specific lots from the affected batches of Zantac tablets from GlaxoSmithKline were identified and have been removed from the shelves.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises that persons who are unsure whether they have the product should consult their health care provider.

For any further inquiries and information, please contact the Drug Inspector, Ms. Astrid Mondesir, Ministry of Health and Wellness, Sir Stanislaus James Building, Waterfront, Castries at 468-5311.

  1. Now, it’s time to hold the car dealerships accountable. These guys operate with impunity. There are worldwide recalls on cars and they do not inform clients and when clients confront them, they (the car dealerships) go ballistic in trying to intimidate them.

  2. What are they prscribed for?
What is tehreason for the recall?
what is teh recourse if one is already affected?

  3. That is the correct question. What is the reason for the recall and what kind of effect it may have on people already taking the drugs?
We have to do our own research because this is a money making scheme. The phamasutical company cares nothing about human lives. Check the effects of the medications you are consuming. Quick fix but not really, you may get worse rather than better. Let’s change our diet, cut out processed foods such as ham, can foods with lots of preservatives. If you don’t know were something is coming from don’t eat it. Eat whole foods( foods from the ground). Drink warm lemon water in the morning before eating. If you are ill do a green juice fast to cleanse your body and a coffee enema to allow it to heal itself. Reduce meat, the body has to work too hard to digest it and has no time to heal itself. Increase your plant base protein like grains and beans, etc. Food is our medicine so research and eat to live.
