Saint Lucia on Monday received notification from the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) of nine new cases of the Delta Variant.
In making the announcement Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sharon Belmar-George disclosed that all of the cases are nationals from across the Island – seven females and two males. Their ages range from 25 to 69 years.
“We continue to ask the public to work with us and exhibit responsible behavior to manage this fourth wave. Let us all take personal responsibility to keep ourselves and our families safe,” Belmar-George urged in a COVID-19 update on Monday.
She called on the public to remain vigilant and adhere to the protocols, including regular hand washing, using face masks in public places and avoiding crowds and people with respiratory symptoms.
