The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs announced Monday the confirmation of 10 new cases of COVID-19 which were processed on Sunday September 12, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 40 samples.
According to a Ministry release, the positive cases made up 25% of all the samples processed on that date, bringing the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9,971.
The Ministry also said confirmation was received of the recovery of 62 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, with the result that the number of active cases currently in country stood at 2402.
Five of the active cases are currently critical and ten of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital, it was disclosed.
To date, a total of 35, 374 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 669 have received the second dose. A total of 6, 583 individuals have received the first dose and 77 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
