Saint Lucia Records 6 New COVID-19 Cases

Saint Lucia on Friday confirmed 6 new cases of COVID-19.

According to the Ministry of Health, the Ezra Long Laboratory confirmed the cases from a batch of 161 samples.

The samples were taken from May 31 to June 1.

But the laboratory processed them on June 3.

According to the Ministry of Health, the newly diagnosed individuals were seen at various community respiratory clinics.

And health care officials assessed and tested them for COVID-19.

The health care practitioners put the patients in home quarantine while awaiting
receipt of their COVID-19 test results.

In the meantime, arrangements have since been made to place them in isolation.

Health practitioners have also begun contact tracing for the newly diagnosed individuals.

Meantime, the Ministry says it has  received confirmation that 9 patients have recovered.

As a result, the total number of active cases in country on Friday was 148.

According to the Ministry, all active cases are currently doing well and none of them currently require intensive care.

To date, the total number of active cases diagnosed in Saint Lucia is 5,108.
