A Saint Lucian national was among 36 foreigners  arrested in  an immigration raid in New Providence, the Bahamas, last week, local reports say.

According to the Bahamas Department of Immigration, the arrests came as the Immigration Enforcement Team conducted ‘Operation Impact’ with the support of  the South Western division of the police force and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

In addition to the Saint Lucian, the Immigration Department said 15 Haitians, 9 Jamaicans, 6 Venezuelans and 5 Guyanese were held.

They were transported to a detention centre for further processing.

Twenty females at a club were also taken into custody, it was reported.

Local authorities were quoted  as asserting that they are committed to carrying out the mandates of all Law Enforcement agencies in combating illegal migration, immigration offences and criminal offences.

  1. One day, soon, I pray, O Lord, the Caribbean will be one and we’ll stop hunting down our own as rats and mongoose.

  2. Seems like the Bible teachings are not respected by many governments; “love thy neighbor as thyself”. Especially since all flags of all Countries stole the land and their fruits, that was given FREE Zfrom from Heaven.
Meanwhile, even the Oil causes Wars, Invasions of Countries, all in greed. No wonder the Holy Bible says ” the love of money is the root of all evil “.

Especially since Oil Fuels can be replaced with BIO FUELS and FREE RECYCLED ENGINE AIR/H20 to COMBUSTION as STEAM, while FARM JOBS are created EVERYWHERE.

    • Sorry Nick, but the holy Bible doesn’t say “money is the root of all evil “. It says, FOR the love of money is the root of all evil. There is a difference.

  3. Send their asses back to they own Caribbean country, if you come to another man country abide by the laws of that land. If you dont do so ass home to your own country

  4. I am so glad that our Bahamian Law Enforcement Agents are committed to ridding our country of all crimes, including illegal immigration, which have negatively impacted our country for decades.
Enough is enough. We must safeguard our country for our children and grand children. We can’t do that in their, and they should not be allowed to do it in ours. For those who advocate a “One Carribbean, will, being that one as is your own country, and do what it takes to improve the quality of life, weed out the corruption, and enjoy the sweat of your own labour in the land of your birth!!! Yeah, let’s become one, by taking responsibility, by one the laws of another man’s country, and above being a part of that agent of change that you want to see in your country.

grandchildren. We can’t do that in their, and they should not be allowed to do it in ours. For those who advocate a “One Carribbean,” well, being that process in your own country, and do what it takes to improve the quality of life, weed out the corruption, and enjoy the sweat of your own labour in the land of your birth!!! Yeah, let’s become one, by taking responsibility, by obeying the laws of another man’s country, and above all by being a part of that agent of change that you want to see in your country.

  6. I beg to differ, if the Bahamas is more corrupt than your country why risk your lives and earnings coming here? When Haiti was the richest in the Caribbean we did not put out and sailed there did we? We stayed put and fend for ourselves. We are all God’s people but God gave everyone their own piece or rock. Let me enjoy mines and you stay and enjoy yours.

  7. Majority of the people arrested are strippers. Strip clubs are illegal. If you decide to move to another man’s country follow the law. Enter legally, work legally, and reframe from illegal activities. It’s not that hard.

  8. As a Bahamian; I welcome persons to come to our land but under common laws all nations around the world abide by. If you enter illegally and begin working and operating businesses without a license or paying taxes you have added to our problems. Most illegal immigrants moneys earned never stays and circulates through our financial system. They send it home or accumulate it hidden somewhere until they are ready to leave for U.S. (where they really want to be) or go back home. How can we tax our citizens and allow illegal immigrants to live free off of our education, healthcare and other government provided systems. We pay for their health care and schooling.

We have many foreigners here who abide by the laws and are welcome to stay for ever as long as they do so

  9. Why have laws if we’re going to break them? I am pretty damn sure that in the Bible that it is stated that you must follow the law of the land. If a person money to pay to get here they should have the common sense to want to do it legally. We also need to hold those accountable who brought them here. We should be getting to the bottom of who is bringing here. Try to strike a deal with them I’m pretty sure someone would squeal for their freedom.

  10. The St Lucian they caught is a hard working heavy equipment operator. And the stupid imigration laws in the Bahamas, obligue us to brake them, just to make some honest money. The girls come there because the local ladies, have abandoned themselves, and lost everything except the appetite for food, and developed these monstrous back sides and bellies, looking more like a dressed up freezer, that cant walk in the street, and spends the day in KFC.
