  1. These increases will create some serious stress for people who are already struggling. Seems like the price of everything is going up without any end in sight or any assistance for the vulnerable. The silence from the Gov’t is deafening. Those who are not already doing so, need to find ways to cut back on expenses where possible. We are on our own!

  2. Once labour in charge things always raise.. gas was $105 a barrel under stayed below $14.00
Now under pjp, same barrel, same $105 and we paying almost $16.00. Some people just like misery. Only the slp supporters should be paying that price at the pump. For them it is ok. We dont produce oil.

    • …I love my coal pot, I never got rid of it….it’s the dam coal that’s going up too. I tell people all the time solar solar solar they can never raise the price on that no matter what; I buy an electric stove I will have here before month end I always going around them, I am interested in an electric car, it going to cost nothing to be on the road.

  4. Smfh this price hike is ridiculous. The 1%increase from Gov’t cannot meet those increases. The time has come to subsidize 100lb cylinders, I am a low income govt employee and have been using 100 lbs cylinder for the convenience now the price has become unbearable. Looks like I need to eat only foods that don’t require cooking. The govt of the day please do something.

    • So you want them to subsidize the 100 lbs cylinder and you talk about low income? Clearly you either have no clue what you are talking about or made a serious error in that comment.

  5. Smfh these price increases are ridiculous
A third of my disposable income being consumed in cooking gas. I am one of those lower income workers using 100lbs cylinder not because I have a fat salary but because of convenience. When will government subsidize the 100lbs cylinder? I wish to know.

    • Now we know why they rush to give 1%. Don’t expect anything more. A raise was given. Taxes never decreased with that government

  6. They all have phocking ideas in opposition, that’s the sh%t that gets me upset with lucians. They act like their party is better just casuse they love their party with the rum ,food & 500 dollars that they give. Mfs they all the same, they all do the same sh/t. Understand this and you understand politics and politicians. Maybe then we can start to move forward and see things change for better.

  7. This government is inept and PJP is just hiding his head in the sand rather than talk to the people about what he plans on doing to combat this. Meanwhile everything is going up so the island is increasing it’s tax revenue but nothing is getting done or being done. The roads are in shambles, the crime is getting worse, prices are increasing everywhere and there is no plan to help the people. The current administration has 2 well known criminals plus a known corrupt politician (land rover cough cough) so I guess what are we to expect. UWP was accused of corruption and even if that was true at least they had a degree of competence. SLP is just incompetent and corrupt. PJP has proven the old proverb to be wrong this time, we should have really judged this book by its cover because him not having the qualities and appearance of a good leader was him actually not being a good leader. PJP is a Coward.

  8. The economist will lead us all out of this soon, just keep the faith…Or maybe we can pray for lower prices, prayer always seems to work.

  9. PJP and his cabals had all the grand ideas in opposition, now they’re in the hot seat they aren’t doing crap, don’t worry judgement day is soon coming and trust me the entire corrupt, inept hand will be out. This is simply ridiculous for someone who had us hate Chas for no reason. I voted SLP and they send me home from working construction. Lesson well learnt.

  10. I will say again and again, consumers of the LPG 100lb cylinders are getting the worst out of this. I’m yet to see the logics in these ridiculous price increases for that commodity. The mathematics doesn’t add up.

    • It doesn’t.
      20lbs cyslinder $2.1465 /lb
      22lbs cylinder: 2$.146818182 /lb
      100lbs cylinder: $3.4116 /lb

Not sure tank price but I get your drift

      • I believe the 100 lb. tank price is higher because it also includes the cost of delivery of new tanks and removal of empty tanks. I am not saying that the pricing is a good or fair deal, but the size and delivery service are very convenient. Especially, for high volume users who do not have easy access to transportation to frequently pick up several small tanks.

    • I so agree! And what’s worse is that 20 lb and 22 lb get subsidized. Who says it’s “ma lay way” alone buying the 20and 22 lb cylinders. PJP gov’t…..Open your eyes!!! The “bousies” pulling up in their rides to purchase subsidized gas??? Fix the loop hole!

      • No Debra there is an additional cost for delivery and that delivery cost has VAT.

    • WTF so will the slp administration raise the prices twice in a month since the next adjustment is on may 23…they excuse will be the war in Ukraine, well we the youths fighting a war here in st lucia and that’s unemployment…how the hell will crime stop in this country.
