SDA Church Seeks Public Assistance

Press Release:–  Every year the Seventh-day Adventist Church solicits funds from the public to assist with its disaster relief, humanitarian work and community development programs.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is usually at the forefront of relief efforts when there is a disaster; preparing hot meals, distributing foodstuff, water, personal and household items. The Church also participates in programs to replace roofs, repair or rebuild houses for persons whose homes have been destroyed by storms or fire.

In communities around St. Lucia hot meals are served regularly by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The humanitarian work of the Church is not confined to St. Lucia. In 2017 the Saint Lucia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists shipped two 40ft containers of supplies to Dominica to bring relief to the people after hurricane Maria ravaged the island.

Presently the St. Lucia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists operates Lifeline Centre at the corner of Chaussee Road and Jeremie Street in Castries. Lifeline Centre offers an after-school and mentorship program to at risk youths in the inner-city, counselling services, diabetes management and prevention classes and last year the second cohort of students graduated from the basic sewing class.

Pastor Philip is calling upon the general public to support this year’s ingathering campaign by giving generously to the various solicitors who will have their ingathering cards and calendars.  He believes that whatever one gives will go a long way in helping to alleviate the plight of the poor and dispossessed.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is grateful for your past generosity and thanks you for being part of this very special and powerful program, because it is the Lord Jesus himself who said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35

  1. Yall should use the thousands of dollars that was spent unnecessarily in the most recent renovation of the church in castries. There was no need for all the fanciful design to the structure. Your building looks a bit too much like the catholic cathedral. Yep the very church whose leader you say is the Beast but yet still the model of your church is like theirs. Maked one wonder…hmmmmmm..

  2. People will always find a way to criticize a good work. The pastor is talking about gathering funds in advance of a major catastrophe to assist those who will be in need. The funds are being solicited for disaster relief. Lucians like to make us look like we have little or no understanding. What does that have to do with the design of the church building. The building needed to be repaired as it happens to be in the middle of the city and must be properly maintained not to mention it needs to look like a place people want to associate with.
If you want to assist with disaster relief just do it because no one knows who will need the help when disaster strikes. Lucians let’s wise up.
