Seajays Swim Club Elects A New Executive

The Seajays Swim Club held its Annual General Meeting this past Friday February 24th, 2017. The outgoing President Eldris Mauricette expressed her thoughts on her past tenure as head of the Club noting her gratitude for the support received from the executive and her confidence in leadership in the newly elected executive. Mauricette also thanked the Club’s hard working coaches for their drive and passion in its swimmers as the results were evident in swimmers’ participation in Carifta, CISC, Goodwill Swim Championship and most recently the Fina Worlds Short Course meet in Canada. The Club also celebrated the success of capturing Club of the Year 2016 and including the nomination of Jayhan Odlum-Smith as Junior Swimmer of the Year at the recently held National Sports Awards.

On further reflection Mauricette expressed “What differentiates the Seajays Swim Club from other clubs is not only our performance in the pool, neither the fact that we have the best coaches on island, it is the fact that the Sea Jays Swim Club is like family”

Jacquline Andrew is now charged with the responsibility to lead the club with the support of her Past President Mauricette, Vice President Tia Henry, Treasurer Eget Martyr, and Secretary Cheryl Dorville.

Andrew expressed her pleasure in embracing the challenge and pledged her commitment to continue to lead the Seajays Swim Club where all swimmers will continue to learn that to reach their individual potential, they must apply themselves intelligently, consistently and work hard. As anyone can appreciate these lessons and values learned through swimming go well beyond the pool.
