Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF) to Host International Instructor from Japan

Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF) -St.Lucia for the 4 th consecutive year will be hosting one of the International Instructors out of SKIF – Japan, Sensei Fumitoshi Kanazawa (6th Dan) from 17 th to 21 st November 2016. The highlight of his visit is to conduct a series of training seminars and serve as chief examiner for the upcoming grading exercise.

Sensei Fumitoshi Kanazawa (born 1975) is the youngest son of Soke (Grand Master) Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th Dan. Sensei Kanazawa’s highlighted accomplishments include winner of the 2006 SKIF World Championship (Tokyo / Japan) and has been SKI-Japan Champion 7 times since 2003.

His visit is the highlight of SKIF-St. Lucia’s annual week of activities dubbed “Shotokan Week”. The program for Sensei Kanazawa’s visit is as follows:

Friday 18 th – SKIF-St. Lucia Instructor’s Seminar 9am-11am at Zanashin Karate Dojo

– SKIF-St. Lucia Black Belt Seminar 5pm-7.30pm at Zanshin Karate Dojo

Saturday 19 th – All activities to be held at St. Joseph’s Convent Auditorium:

– Black and Brown Belts Seminar 8:30 a. m. to 11:00 a.m.

– KYU Ranks Seminar 11:15 a. m. to 1:00 p.m.

– DAN Examination 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

– KYU Ranks Examination 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Sunday 20 th – Presentation of Rank Certificates, SKIF Family Get Together, and Farewell 3pm to 7pm at St. Joseph’s Convent Auditorium.

SKIF- St. Lucia looks forward to staging another successful hosting of SKIF-Japan’s International instructors and welcomes the support from fellow karate-kas and well-wishers.
