SLASPA Facilitates Delivery Of COVID-19 Vaccines

Press Release:- The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) facilitated the Government of Saint Lucia and the Ministry of Health and Wellness in receiving the doses of vaccines from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), which arrived at the George F.L. Charles airport on Monday, March 01, 2021.

The Airport Division placed priority on the logistics for the arrival of the aircraft and collaborated with the Office of the Prime Minister, Customs and Excise Department, Immigration and the Ministry of Health and Wellness to ensure that the framework was in place for the efficient processing for the delivery of the AstraZeneca vaccines to Saint Lucia.

On hand to receive the 25,000 doses were the Prime Minister, the Honourable Allen Chastanet, Minister of Health, Mary Isaac, other officials of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, representatives of the Indian High Commissioner and some members of SLASPA’s Management Team.

The Director of Airports stated that “Management is cognizant of this very important milestone for the Government of Saint Lucia in its effort to fight this pandemic and was happy to be a part of the process. SLASPA pledges its support to the Government and the Ministry of Health and Wellness as it seeks to reduce the number of cases on the island.”
