SLFS Reports Over 90 Weekend Ambulance Responses

For the weekend of July 2 to 5, the Saint Lucia  Fire Service (SLFS) recorded ninety-two ambulance responses in the North and South of the Island.

According to SLFS spokeswoman, Stacy Joseph, one of the calls related to a motor vehicular incident, while seven had to do with physical assaults.

In addition, Joseph disclosed that there was one shooting incident and seven fire calls recorded.

She said on Friday, emergency personnel responded to a physical assault at Pavee, Castries.

The victim, whom police identified as 17 year old Divaio Faucher, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had been stabbed multiple times.

On Friday July 2, at 2:10 p.m., emergency personnel at the Soufriere Fire Station responded to a call at Belvedere, Fond St. Jacques, Soufriere where a structure collapsed on an individual who was later identified as Peter Victor, 58.  

Victor was pronounced dead after he was transported to the Soufriere Hospital.

And emergency personnel at the Babonneau Fire Station received a call on Saturday 3 July at 9:00 p.m. informing them of a possible stabbing incident on Victoria Street in Castries. 

The responding personnel found a male individual unresponsive with multiple lacerations on his body.

Joseph said his wounds were bandaged and he was immediately transferred to an  ambulance which conveyed him to the OKEU Hospital in critical condition.

However, police said the victim, whom they identified as Leron Philip, 34, succumbed at the medical institution.

And on Sunday, emergency personnel at the Vieux Fort fire station responded to a report shortly before midnight relating to a shooting at La Ressource.

The responders transported a male in critical condition to St Jude Hospital.
