The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) responded to 6 calls relating to physical assaults and eleven road accidents for the weekend of April 23 to 26.
SLFS spokeswoman, Stacy Joseph, made the disclosure in a media statement on Monday.
Joseph said that during the period under review, there were 91 ambulance responses.
In addition, she said there were three fire calls.
As regards physical assaults, Joseph explained that they included a wounding at Clarke Street, Vieux Fort, on Friday.
As a result of the incident, emergency personnel transported a male who appeared to be in his twenties to hospital in stable condition.
Joseph said he had a wound to the abdomen.
And she also disclosed that officers from the Micoud Fire station responded to a report of a stabbing on Friday morning.
“Emergency personnel found a male in his twenties conscious and alert, complaining of pain to his thigh,” Joseph stated.
She said the responders treated the patient’s wounds and transported him to St. Jude Hospital in stable condition.
