SLNT supporters take part in silent protest

Supporters of the Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) on Tuesday staged a silent protest outside parliament over the decision of the government to eliminate the organisation’s┬ásubvention for the 2017/2018 estimates.

One of the SLNT supporters, Danielle ‘Lulu’ Bergasse said that she was there to stand in solidarity with the trust.

“There is no protest – we are just here to look,” Bergasse said.

She explained that she was very concerned about the elimination of the SLNT subvention because to completely remove financial support for an organisation as important as the trust should concern everyone.

Bergasse observed that the SLNT has a mandate to preserve Saint Lucia’s heritage and patrimony.

She said whether the presence of SLNT supporters outside parliament sends a message to the prime minister or not did not matter.

Bergasse said what was important was that people see that supporters of the SLNT were standing because they care.

  1. STAY IN YOUR SECTION. why you all letting SLP to influence your mandate. The director of SLNT has been on two SLP programs and expect the GOV. to respect youall. NO FUNDING until they fire and replace the SLNT board.

    • The Trust Director was also on The Chairman which is hosted by David Samuels, hmmmmm I wonder what party he’s affiliated to?? You imbeciles keep politicizing this, it’s the Trust today but who will be next…let’s hope it’s not you our your loved one. Hopefully, they can hire you to replace the Director, be sure to send your application!!

    • LOL… You are too funny…. This is not a dictationship…. and the TRUST should not be blackmailed… if you didnt know, thats illegal. Or did your government never tell you that. (Words deleted)

  2. Denia, Calixte and Nadia the SLP poison in the system. Their political affiliation and agitation has been apparent for a long time on social media. Kenny’s parasites on the inside. Playing politics with the islands future and longing for their dear leader to return to his war on the grass behind the grass.

    • Its amazing how you guys are quick to call out persons as SLP supporters when they oppose Chastenet… you truly learnt from the best. So i take it based on your analysis above you MUST be a UWP poison and parasite. You sound illiterate and utterly stupid…. #slaveintraining

      • Nobody has to call these labour activists out. They were out in full force campaigning pre June 6. They would bring him roasted Jacquot in Agouti Sauce served in a turtle shell if he so desired.

    • At least when the their “Dear Leader” touched the subvention it was NEVER zeroed…so who is playing politics. See this for what it is man and cut out the foolishness!! The Trust lobbied the SLP government on the Freedom Bay issue it was in the media, they put pressure on them about the Pitons Management Area when its World Heritage Site Status was threatened…that was in the media too!! But obviously the UWP ‘parasites’ (as you put it) kept quiet. Who is playing politics now?

  3. The logic of simple minds. If one stands up to legislation by UWP, then one is Labour. Also, if one stands up to legislation by Labour, then one is UWP. Talking about stupidity, this is it.

  4. It’s just the players in this pantomime and their allegiances are known so well that they have no credibility. That goes for both sides.

  5. This guy wants to shine but he is too dull and stupid to shine. let lone the leader of a country.Mark my words.

  6. Why did Lulu Bergasse take centre stage. So why was not the pic of Froggy showed?
