Press Release:– The Saint Lucia National Youth Council is pleased to announce its partnership with Rhythm FM Inc. (BLAZIN 99.3) as the Official Broadcast Partner for the “Value In D’ Vote”, Youth Voter Education Campaign.
The agreement is geared towards the active promotion of events, activities and messages associated with the Value In D’ Vote campaign.
The campaign, launched on Tuesday, September 15th (World Democracy Day) aims to shift the attitude of political apathy among youth to consider themselves as essential agents in democratic processes and increase their participation in civic discourse.

The campaign contributes towards the SLNYC’s strategic Education Outcome “Increased social consciousness in the present generation of youth, empowered to serve as responsible citizens who can contribute significantly towards national development.”
Since its establishment, Blazin 99.3 has transformed the local media and entertainment landscape through its popular radio programmes and signature events such as Aqua Mele, Igloo, Stages among others.
As a result, Blazin FM is a household name particularly among millennials and “Gen Z” youth.
Despite the limitations on social gatherings due to the current COVID-19 protocols, both parties are aware that this provides the best opportunity to reach online and radio audiences through targeted youth-oriented initiatives.
Additionally, the partnership builds on the shared values of both organizations towards youth representation, autonomy and freedom of expression.
As the state prepares for the National General Election which is constitutionally due in July 2021, the SLNYC believes that youth, a significant demographic in Saint Lucia, must be well informed of voter rights and responsibilities, the voting process and hold a keen interest in national development.
