The Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has congratulated the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI) opposition on its ‘massive’ election landslide win.

The SLP posted its message of congratulations on its official Facebook page.

The message asserted that the sister party of Saint Lucia’s ruling United Workers Party (UWP) went down to massive defeat.

It said SLP leader, Philip J Pierre and the SLP offered ‘hearty congratulations’ to the TCI opposition.

The TCI’s main opposition Progressive National Party (PNP) won 14 seats in Friday’s election.

But the incumbent People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) was able to obtain only one.

Businessman Charles Washington Misick leads the PNP.

The only successful PDM candidate was former health minister Edwin Astwood.
