The opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has been plunged into mourning over the death of one of its stalwarts, Neville Skeete.
Top party officials confirmed the death Wednesday.
They told St Lucia Times that Skeete had been ailing for some time.
SLP General Secretary Leo Clarke described the deceased as having been an incomparable supporter who will not easily be replaced.
“He was a faithful friend of the SLP,” Clarke recalled.
He also said he found Skeete to be one of the greatest human beings, and an outstanding person.
Skeete was 80 years old, party officials say.
