SLP Promises To Reintroduce Plans For Universal Health Care

A  Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) administration will reintroduce plans for Universal Health Care.

The party made its position known in a post on its official Facebook page Thursday, as it stressed the importance of people having access to affordable health care.

” The Saint Lucia Labour Party will reintroduce our plans for Universal Health Care so that all Saint Lucians are given the opportunity to live healthy and wholesome lives,” the SLP asserted.

The SLP Facebook post observed that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and urged persons who have any signs or symptoms that worry them to be sure to see their doctor right away.

“Different people have different symptoms of breast cancer. Some people do not have any signs or symptoms at all,” the post explained.

It said some warning signs of breast cancer are— new lump in the breast or underarm (armpit), thickening or swelling of part of the breast, irritation or dimpling of breast skin and redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast.

Other signs are pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area; nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood and any change in the size or the shape of the breast and pain in any area of the breast, it was disclosed.
