SLP Says Government Silent On Addressing Bordelais Prison ‘Humanitarian Disaster’

It has been days since the revelation that there is a massive COVID-19 outbreak at the Bordelais Correctional Facility and, we are yet to hear a plan from the UWP Government on how to deal with this crisis.

This is humanitarian disaster. People will die. And yet, this uncaring and unresponsive UWP Government has offered no plan to stop the prison outbreak.

The Government must immediately deep clean the facility, isolate the sick and provide high quality masks and face shields to all inmates and guards.

Hand sanitizer must also be provided. If we do not stop this outbreak now, it is going to spread even more in our community than it already is.

The fact of the matter is, Saint Lucia is amongst the worst in the region in managing the crisis. It is s hurting our economy. It is hurting our health.

And, we have a Government that is not providing any relief to people in spite of skyrocketing debt.

In these times, it seems like Allen Chastanet and his friends are doing fine while the rest of us are suffering under massive restrictions which are doing little to actually stop the outbreak which is raging in our prisons.

We need a safe election so the people can choose between the uncaring UWP Government and an SLP that puts you first.
