The opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has alerted members of the public to imposters posing as canvassers of the party in two constituencies.
SLP Communications Officer, Maundy Lewis, named the constituencies as Castries East and Castries South.
Lewis said the SLP received reports that canvassers are wearing red tee shirts with the tag line :’Keeping It Real’ printed on the front.
She said in a statement Thursday that according to the reports, the individuals are claiming to be from the SLP.
“We would like to make it clear that these branded persons do not represent the labour party,” she declared.
And she called on them to stop the misrepresentation.
“We call on the public to be vigilant as these persons masquerade in constituencies to create confusion and distractions,” Lewis stated.
According to the SLP Communications Officer, Saint Lucians are ready to let their voices be heard.
As a result, she observed that they will not fall for ‘these cheap tricks’.
Lewis noted that June 6, 2021 will be five years since the last general elections .
“Saint Lucians are increasingly asking that the elections are called. It is time to vote and put the people first,” she declared.
