A house fire at Fond St Jacques, Soufriere, on Tuesday morning left a family of five homeless.
As a result the victims are now at a friend’s house.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) says the Soufriere fire station received a call in relation to the fire about 11:40 am.
SLFS spokesman Damian Jn Baptiste said the responding crew discovered that a concrete structure with galvanize sheeting was ablaze.
But the house was still electrically energized, Jn Baptiste observed.
He explained that because of the situation, there was a delay in putting out the fire.
Jn Baptiste said no one was at home at the time.
The SLFS is continuing investigations into the fire.
