Soufriere Foundation Hosts Business Stakeholders Meeting

Press Release:-Soufriere, St. Lucia – The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) continues to persistently seek its mandate to foster economic, cultural and social development in a manner that is responsive to the needs and aspirations of the community.

On Monday Mar 27th, 2017, the SRDF hosted a business stakeholder’s consultation intended to communicate the developmental plans at the organization’s sites.

According to the Executive Director of SRDF, Mr. Jimmy Haynes, “the stakeholders are the patrons and suppliers of our services; therefore, it is important that they are a part of the discussion”.

Mr. Haynes believes that there should be more consultations on all different levels. He added that their aim is to make these forums a consistent part of their public relation strategy to stimulate comprehensive and genuine discourse with the stakeholders.

The gathering was also informed of the fee structure changes on entrance to the Sulphur Springs Park and the Gros Piton Nature Trail which will take effect on Oct 1, 2017. The new fee will be a consolidation of the Black Water pool bath, combination packages and guided tour.

One business stakeholder expressed his thought on the meeting. “I was very impressed with the meeting. It was very informative and the idea was very positive.” said Chef Orlando Satchell, Proprietor of Orlando’s Restaurant.

Mr. Satchell added that he is looking forward to attending the follow up session and many others.
