Soufriere MP Shocked After Fond St Jacques Woman’s Body Found In Pool Of Blood

Asserting that the community of Fond St Jacques in Soufriere is small and close-knit, Soufriere-Fond St Jacques MP Emma Hippolyte has expressed shock after reports that a son discovered his mother Cesinta Lionel’s body in a pool of blood on Thursday.

The son, Taj Stephen, told reporters that he discovered his mother on the floor of her residence.

“When I reached there the door was locked so I make the round around the house and when I came around I saw her lie down on the floor with only a top and without panty and blood running our from her mouth,” Stephen told HTS Evening News on Friday night, adding that he ran to get help.

“I don’t know why somebody would do that to my mom,” he expressed.

Soufriere MP Emma Hippolyte observed that violence, including violence against women, is a concern.

And she recalled that earlier this year, the government passed a revamped Domestic Violence bill.

But she noted that in tackling the issue of violence, more is required, including work with the police, education in schools, conversations in the churches, and reaching out to the communities to help them understand that they will survive only through togetherness.

“The only thing that will glue us together is love and you cannot love somebody and at the same time inflict violence and pain. We need to have that conversation continually,” Hippolyte told St Lucia Times.

“We need to stop the violence but I think our biggest challenge is how,” the MP stated.

She recalled that she recently addressed a peace rally where young people appeared to be loving individuals.

However, Hippolyte lamented that sometimes these same individuals create conflict and pain.

“I cannot put the two things together,” Hippolyte, who personally knows the bereaved Fond St Jacques family, expressed.

“We have to give emotional and counselling support to the family,” the Soufriere MP stated.

At the same time, she hoped for a speedy investigation into Cesinta Lionel’s death.

  1. There is no name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
    Therefore, rejoice now O heavens
and you who dwell in them.
God : One day will win a complete Victory over satan.
A man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.
Those who fear God, knows the time and the things to be taken place.
    Salvation, Save-
To be rescured from danger or evil
The true and faithful followers of Jesus Christ can resit Satan with the help of God.
Sin : But woe to the earth and the seas ! Because the devil has gone down to you !
    He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is near or short and the prince of the world has been judge.
The last enemy to be defeated is ‘death’, which will follow death.
While the word of God is still beign heard, Come on O house of tribu of Israël, let us walk in the light of the LORD !!!

  2. As the word of God is concerned and be remembered among generation to generation :
How beautiful are those who bring good tidings (good news).
    Who proclaime peace,
    Who proclaime salvation,
    Who say to St-Lucians,
    “Your Creator (God) reigns !”
Who set the heaven in place,
who laid the foundations of the earth, and say to St-Lucians 🇱🇨 ‘ you are my people”.
And all the earth will see
the salvation of our GOD !!!!!!!

  3. Condolences to the family. While I understand that not all these crimes can be stopped, I really wish we can move from a state of shock and really put actions in place to reduce these occurrences. Shock alone is not enough. This will take a collective, unified effort from everyone.

  4. The LORD said, “I have Indeed seen the miseries of my people in Égypte. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have comme down to rescue them from the hand of the Égyptien and bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,a land of flowing with milk and honey_the home of the canaanites,…..
And now the cry of the Israëlites has reached me, I have seen the way the Égyptiens are oppressing them.
So now, go, I am sending you (Moses) to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israëlites out of Égypte.’
But Moses said to God, “Who I am, that i should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israëlites out of Égypte ?”
And God said to Moses, “I will be with you, And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you :
When you have brought the people out of Égypte, you will worship God…..
Moses said to God, “Suppose i go to the Israëlites and say to them, ” The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they asked me,
“What is your name ?’ Then what shall i tell them ?

GOD said to Moses “I Am WHO I AM,
This is what you are to say to the Israëlites : ‘I AM has sent you.’ ”
God also to Moses, ” Say to the Israëlites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob_ has sent me to you,’ This is my covenant (my chosen descendants (people) forever, the name by which I am (remembered) from generation to generation.

As the rain and the snow
    Come down from heaven
and do not return to it
    Whithout watering the earth
and make it bud and flourish,
So that it yields seeds for the sower and bread for the eater,
So as my word that goes out from my mouth :
🌿It will not return to me EMPTY,
    but accomplish what I desire
and acheive ⚖️ the purpose for which I sent. (Jesus) !!!!!!

  5. When did St. Lucians become children of Israel, and what does this comment have to do with the murder of this Fond St. Jacques resident?

  6. This is so sad and my condolences to the family of this lady. A community such as Fond St Jacques doesn’t make the news with such gruesome acts.
    What I really need to know cause this report is so vague is that was she raped and murdered. if so what is our murder figures at present for the year. I noticed that when it got to about 17, we just hear news like;
    A decapitated body was found
A bullet ridden body was found
    Police probe fatal shooting
    Stabbing victim succumbs to injury
Three persons got shot at a party
Police awaiting post mortem results to determine cause of death
No marks of violence found on body discovered in vacant lot
But to date we are not sure whether these cases were homicides and what is the current total but after each such case our news reporters will remind us of 2017 was a record year for homicides.

  7. Someone knows something. We were given a clue. That killer don’t live far from her. That seems like a case that could easily be solved. The Jacques is a very small community and it is very unlikely that a stranger committed this crime. Begin investigating all her male relations, both past and present, and all those who may have had interest in her.

  8. @Paul – you got it right.
@ M. Jones – with due respect to you, shall we be very careful with the words we use? when you imply that “WE” are of slaves – “WE” are of Judah – “WE” are Israelites – wake up, but wake up for what? do you mean an uprising? or to wake up spiritually to know the truth? I think you mean well, but ‘at a time such as this, we ought to be careful with the words and phrases that we use’ ; as Paul said, there’re lots of Demonic activity on the Island. We should all pray to ‘JESUS’ to unleash the HOLY SPIRIT in our prayer time, be beat back the evil from our mid. BTW we are not Etheopians, we are St. Lucians.

  9. “The only thing that will glue us together is love and you cannot love somebody and at the same time inflict violence and pain. We need to have that conversation continually,” Hippolyte told St Lucia Times.“. 👀 The only thing that will prevent this is the Love of God in the hearts of people. There is no other love that does not start with God! Not just in St. Lucia. In the world!

  10. Re Article? Was it a case of rape.?
The person don’t leave too far..
    Condolences to the families..
A serial rapist is on the loose..

  11. Let the people of St Lucia know that they are the people whom the Bible is talking about. That they are the children of Israel. The children of the people who were taken as slaves from Africa. They are the chosen people of GOD ALMIGHTY WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM ISAAC AND JACOB WHO GOD ALMIGHTY NAMED ISRAEL.
YOU BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. THE SAME TRIBE WHICH JESUS IS COMING FROM THIS IS WHY HE IS CALLED THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. IT IS THE TRUTH. PLEASE WAKE UP. ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE IN THE CARIBBEAN, IN ALL THE WESTERN WORLD, IN THE AMERICAS AND OTHER PLACES IN THE WORLD ARE HEBREW ISRAELITES. PLEASE WAKE UP. THE LORD ALMIGHTY IS CALLING YOU HIS PEOPLE TO WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER. AND START KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS AND TURN AWAY FROM SIN AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. FOR THE LORD IS COMING FOR HIS PEOPLE AND TO JUDGE THE WICKED PEOPLE OF THE EARTH. SO REPENT YOU PEOPLE OF THE MOST HIGH GOD AND TURN TO HIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND SIN NO MORE. FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND. ON WHOSE SIDE SHALL YOU BE WHEN HE COMES. LET IT BE ON THE SIDE OF THE KING OF Kings.

  12. It is not peace rally and statements made by MP that will stop the crime. Too much talk and no aggressive action. Ultimately I know crime will not stop but stricter penalties and consequences and conflict resolution classes can surely help…

  13. if someone did this to this lady no matter her life, i hope justice is brought to their living soul by God…..i find too many things are happening to people around a time for celebration like birthdays mothers day and so on…the lady should have been about to celebrate mothers day and not to be grieved by her children……my God my God people are just appearing dead in this country while people are hating grudging and plotting people’s demise……i hope and only hope someone else didnt do this…

what a strange death….may her good soul rest…may her children find peace and be comforted……Lord may we find peace in this corrupt world

  14. I hope the police Gather Critical Evidence to arrest and Chàrge the Person after the Post Mortem if Its a Homicide

  15. The headline states that she was found in a “pool of blood” but her son states that she was found with “blood running out from her mouth”. These are 2 completely different statements. It may seem trivial but the accuracy of news reporting should always be key. I can’t imagine the grief of the family. May she rest in peace.

  16. I am almost convinced that the SLP made alot of blood sacrifices to win this last election because I can’t seem to understand that every constituency where SLP won the seat, homicides, fires, accidents, just name it have happened there. Too much blood have been spilled in these constituencies and I am left to wonder, why only there?
