Staff At Four Martinique Schools Test Positive For COVID-19

Staff members at four Martinique schools have tested positive for COVID-19 the day after the the start of the school year, local reports say.

RCI.fm  identified the four learning institutions as being in the municipalities of Robert (Simone Branglidor du Vert Pré nursery school), Anses d’Arlet (Alexandre Stellio College), Fort-de-France (Jacqueline Julius College) and Ducos (Camille Zozo de Seguiran nursery school).

Confirmation of the positive cases came in a  September 4 press statement from health authorities.

According to Martinique.FranceAntilles, staff who tested positive for Covid-19 were placed in isolation.

The on line publication said as part of a survey conducted by the services of the Academy of Martinique, the Regional Health Agency of Martinique and the cities concerned, 91 people were identified as risk contacts.

They are subject to isolation pending test results, it stated.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Martinique  as of Saturday morning had recorded 754 cases of COVID-19 with 18 deaths.
