The North West Bahamas is under a Tropical Storm warning.
The warning includes Abacos Islands and Grand Bahama Island, both of which were devastated by Hurricane Dorian.
An area of disturbance in the central Bahamas is expected to develop and become a tropical depression by Friday afternoon.
According to the US National Hurricane Centre, the system could become a tropical storm by Friday night.
Should a tropical storm develop, it will be named Humberto.
As the Islands brace for the likely effect of the latest weather system, the Prime Minister of the Bahamas Doctor Hubert Minnis has asserted that the country has no time for divisive politics.
Local media quoted him as dismissing as ‘unnecessary distraction’, comments made by his predecessors.
As reported by The Tribune, Minnis expressed disappointment and surprise yesterday in his predecessors, Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie, over their comments suggesting he has ignored their capacity to help the country recover from Hurricane Dorian.
