Stranded Ferry Passengers Rescued Off Saint Lucia

Twenty-five stranded passengers had to be rescued Thursday night when the ferry in which they were travelling ran aground off Saint Lucia, law enforcement officials have confirmed.

A senior law enforcement official identified the vessel as the Bleu & Or.

According to one report, the vessel was on a one day trip to Saint Lucia from Martinique.

The law enforcement official told St Lucia Times that about 7.00 p.m it ran aground off Furore Rock, about 200 yards off the Marisule beach.

He said the Bleu & Or sustained damage to the hull.

Two boats from the IGY Rodney Bay Marina reportedly went to the assistance of the stranded ferry and took its passengers to shore.

No injuries were reported.

The stranded ferry was later taken to the marina and put into dry dock, the law enforcement official explained.

It was not immediately clear what eventually became of he passengers.

  1. The captain bought the wrong charts, and was paying attention to a beautifull blonde, that had him mesmerized.

  2. Yeah you guys that write these articles you allway forget the most important things,Shame you, forget about our marine unit, and you dont say a word.Hope the police or imigration can give us more details of,how does a tourist boat climb on to some rocks, because that is very irresponsible, from the Company that owns the vessel and more for the captain in charge and responsible, for the safety of all on board.Captains ass is meat by now, boat should be held and fined, then released, once cash is paid
