A twenty-seven year old man whom police shot on Wednesday afternoon has now been charged.
The charges are stealing from a business place and three counts of assault on the police.
Officers have identified the man they charged as Bradley Cole of Bois Patat, Castries.
According to investigators, police responded to a report of stealing from a store in the quarter of Gros Islet.
And they later intercepted the suspect at Caye Mange.
However Cole is accused of attacking the officers with a knife, sustaining a gunshot wound to the foot in the process.
As a result, the officers transported the unemployed man to a medical facility.
After a doctor treated and discharged him, police pressed the charges.
Cole is also a suspect in a chopping incident at Bois Patat, Castries, earlier this month.
Two people, a man and a woman, sustained cutlass wounds during an unprovoked attack, residents said.
Both victims ended up in hospital, but have since returned home.
Police are expected to press charges in connection with the Bois Patat chopping incident shortly.
