Taiwan Donates Supplies to the Ministry of Equity

Press Release:-  The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has once again  demonstrated its nation’s support by donating an assortment of humanitarian supplies to the Government and people of Saint Lucia.

The handing over ceremony took place on Tuesday October 15th, 2019 at the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) grounds, Bisee.

Councilor and Taiwanese Representative Bill Huang expressed his Government’s enthusiasm in assisting the poor and vulnerable people of Saint Lucia.

“The Simply Help Foundation was formed in the Year 2000 in the United States and it is very active in twenty-three (23) countries. The Foundation is dedicated to relieving poverty by providing Emergency Disaster Vocational Training, shelter and care for the homeless and elderly. The Foundation has done this by contributing needed supplies to the people of Saint Lucia. Today I am happy to announce that Simply Help Foundation has provided clothing, shoes baby supplies and electronics for households in need. This is a testimony of love and friendship from the Taiwanese Government to the people of Saint Lucia. The foundation is more than Simply Help, it is a Great Help.”

The items include shoes kitchen wear, clothes, toys, baby supplies, suit cases and stationery.

Minister for Equity, Social justice, Local Government and Empowerment Hon. Leonard Montoute expressed his gratitude to the Taiwanese Government for providing the much needed supplies.

“I want once again to announce my Government appreciation for the donation, especially given the target population that it is intended for. I am confident that as in previous years those who are most in need and most deserving will receive those gifts. We are grateful for the Taiwanese contribution and as a Government we look forward to that continued collaboration. My ministry is a Social Ministry and our task is mammoth with limited resources so therefore any form of collaboration is welcomed.”

The Simply Help Foundation has donated to the Government and people of Saint Lucia from 2015.
