Taiwan President Congratulates Prime Minister Pierre

Press Release:– On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Her Excellency President Tsai, Ing-wen extended her warmest congratulations on the
victory of the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) in the 2021 general election and the
Honourable Philip J. Pierre’s assumption of office as Prime Minister of Saint Lucia.

In her congratulatory message on 28 July 2021, President Tsai expressed her faith
to the Hon. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre by stating that under his sagacious
leadership, the great nation of Saint Lucia will continue to flourish.

In addition, President Tsai reaffirmed the significance of the Taiwan-Saint Lucia diplomatic ties between Taiwan and Saint Lucia, stating that the two countries have become “indispensable” partners through close cooperation to improve people’s quality of life and that she looks forward to furthering the strong ties and friendship between Taiwan and Saint Lucia.

His Excellency Premier Su Tseng-chang of the Executive Yuan of the Government
of the Republic of China (Taiwan) conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on the Hon. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre’s victory as well.

Premier Su believed that Saint Lucia has a bright future in the coming years at the helm of the Hon. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre.

He stated that the two countries have built strong cooperative ties and a genuine friendship since 2007 and he looks forward to further cementing the diplomatic relations through joint efforts for the mutual benefit of the Taiwanese and Saint Lucian people.
