Teenagers Beat Up, Rob Doctor In T&T

A group of about  five teenagers beat up and robbed a doctor in Trinidad and Tobago on Christmas Eve day, according to a newspaper report.

The T&T Newsday quoted police sources as saying that the 37 year old medical practitioner was attacked about 1:30 pm, robbed and left bleeding on the pavement.

The incident occurred along Seventh Avenue in Barataria, it was reported.

The doctor estimated that the youths were between the ages of 14 and 18.

He was robbed of $5,000, a gold chain worth an undisclosed sum and a $3,000 Samsung cellphone, Newsday said.

The youths then walked off.

The doctor later made a report to the Barataria police and he was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Centre in Mt Hope where he was treated and warded for several hours before being discharged, according to the publication which said that no arrests have yet been made.
