Saint Lucian Journalist, Timothy Poleon, has confirmed that he is ‘considering’ throwing his hat into the ring for the upcoming general elections in Saint Lucia.
But the two time Saint Lucia Journalist of the Year would not be drawn on the issue of under what political banner he is considering the run.
Poleon told St Lucia Times that people in the Castries South constituency have in the past asked him to take part in elections.
But he explained that it’s the first time he is actually considering their request.
Health Minister Mary Isaac who unsuccessfully contested the seat in the last elections for the current ruling United Workers Party and Buffalo Odlum have publicly stated their desire to contest Castries South on the party’s ticket.
At the same time current MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire has expressed confidence that he will be re-elected.
Asked Thursday about the possibility of Poleon making a run in the next election, former Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony said: “No comments on that. I will wait until that happens.”
