Toronto’s John Wiggins Supports Saint Lucia Basketball

Press Release:- The Saint Lucia Basketball Federation are again the proud recipients of a donation from John Wiggins, Vice President of the Raptors 905 Club.

Wiggins indicated “The Raptors 905 season recently concluded and we have gathered together some gently used equipment and apparel from our Raptors 905 Basketball Club as a donation to the athletes of St Lucia. We feel that these items would be of great benefit, and appreciated by the coaches, mentors, and players that you work with in your organization.”

In his email he also said “Each year our team strives to provide opportunities and access to the wonderful game of basketball. We hope that these donations motivate, inspire, and help propel the efforts of any individual who feels the game of basketball can be used as a vessel to help further both their professional and personal goals.”

The donation will be carried and made to the SLBF by Mr. and Mrs Wiggins (his parents) on our behalf.

The Federation is elated to receive the donation and in thanking Mr. Wiggins and his family assured that the shoes/ apparel and equipment will be distributed island-wide to athletes and teams who are in dire need.

John Wiggins is the Vice President for the Raptors 905 Basketball Club. John has developed a passion for managing and growing professional sports organizations, while also contributing to the development of surrounding communities and their members and is very passionate about providing support and contributing to the development of basketball and its players in St. Lucia.

The SLBF has embarked on a program where they work closely with individuals and entities to donate items that is needed for the development of the sport of basketball in Saint Lucia which would otherwise be very costly to procure. According to President Leslie Collymore, “we are indeed grateful for the support from John and look forward to continued partnerships.”
