Three men were shot dead in a house in Bruceville Vieux Fort in the wee hours of Saturday morning, St Lucia police have confirmed.
Source say a female who was inside the house at the time was unharmed and is currently assisting police with their investigations.
Inspector Marcellinus Leonce, Head of the Criminal Investigations Department for the South, confirmed that three young men were killed inside the house at approximately one o’clock in the morning.
Two of the victims were identified by relatives at the scene as Norbert Allan, 25, of La Ressource, Dennery and David Raymond also known as Pumpkin.
Verna Evans said she was inside her home when she heard a voice shout “police” at approximately one o’clock followed by flurry of gunshots. She later heard two voices walking away from the area.
“I hear the gun shot. I come to get up. My son who was there tell me, Mummy things like that you mustn’t go out. Then after I hear two people was talking. To tell you the truth, I don’t know who that person was talking,” Evans recounted.
Evans said immediately after the shooting, a young woman whom she identified as the “long-time girlfriend” of the homeowner came to sit outside her gate. The young woman did not speak much, she said.
“She was crying and she asked for somebody. And the brother of the next one they shoot called her,” Evans said.
Prince Prescott said he was at work when he received a call that his son was shot. He identified his son as David Raymond, aka Pumpkin, in his thirties.
“You know already when you young, is gang thing. But they always wanted to kill him, so they kill him. So maybe the person that kill him satisfied already. ” Prescott.
The triple homicide followed a shooting in the same area hours earlier. Inspector Leonce said it’s too early to determine whether the two incidents are connected.
“At around 10pm that very same night there was a shooting in Vieux Fort, however, we cannot say with any degree of certainty that it is connected.”
Police investigations are continuing into this incident.
