T&T: Body of teen mom found by hunters

Trinidad Express:–  A DECOMPOSING body believed to be that of a Chaguanas woman who went missing a week ago was found by a group of hunters in the Santa Cruz on Saturday.

While investigators said they were unable to confirm whether the body was indeed that of 19-year-old Amy Leslie James, a mother of two, they said there was a strong possibility it was since the body bore a tattoo fitting the description of one given to them by her concerned relatives last week.

James’ relatives have since been contacted by investigators and are expected to view the body at the Forensic Science Centre in St James today, said police.

She was last seen by relatives last Sunday when she left her home sometime between 9 and 10 p.m, leaving her two sons, ages four and one-year-old unattended. It was not known where she had intended on going.

When she did not return home the following day, her relatives made a police report and also made a number of postings on social media calling for anyone with information on her location to contact police.
