T&T: Former National Security Minister robbed

Trinidad Express:-Former Minister of National Security Carl Alfonso was a victim of a robbery on Wednesday afternoon.

The crime happened at about 3:30pm along Picadilly Street, Port of Spain.

Alfonso was driving in the vicinity of Duke Street, when he was approached by a man.

At the time, Alfonso’s hand was outside of his car.

The suspect grabbed a gold bracelet off Alfonso’s wrist and fled.

The police were notified and a team of officers from the Besson Street Police Station went to a track a short distance away from Picadilly Street in the East Dry River community and found the $10,000 bracelet.

Alfonso was national security minister in the Peoples Partnership government from February to September 2015.
