From October 1st, 2021, fully vaccinated students in forms four, five and six in Trinidad and Tobago will have the option to attend face-to-face classes at schools once there is no significant change in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has announced.
Rowley made the announcement on Saturday during a media conference.

According to a release on the Prime Minister’s official website, the academic year will begin on Monday 6th September, 2021, with all students returning to classes virtually.

The release quoted Prime Minister Rowley as expressing disappointment in the country’s vaccination numbers, disclosing that  at this time there are still 800,000 people eligible to be vaccinated in Trinidad and Tobago.

Rowley also announced that the Government will review the possibility of reopening places of worship by September 6th, 2021, in restricted numbers.
