T&T: Gunman dies trying to rob bar

Trinidad Express:-  POLICE shot and killed a suspected thief in Tunapuna on Tuesday when he and his accomplice attempted to rob a bar in the area.

The identity of the dead man was not immediately known.

Police said that around 2.40 p.m. a police officer was at the Big S Sports Bar at Centenary Street, Tunapuna when two gunmen walked and announced a robbery.

One of the gunmen opened fire at the Police Constable who began shooting.

One of the men escaped. His accomplice was shot.

The dying gunman as well as a patron, Ganesh Madrey who had been struck during the shoot-out were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where the gunman was pronounced dead on arrival,

Madrey is listed in stable condition.


  1. Massive Big UP to TT Finest. This is one criminal that would not be sheltered and eating at the taxpayers’ expense. Eating money that includes taxes from the same people he robbed. This is one maggot that will not be a pest to society anymore.
