Twenty-Seven Saint Lucians To Pursue Higher Education In Taiwan This Year

Twenty-seven Saint Lucians are heading for Taiwan this year to pursue higher education, it has been announced.

The announcement came from Prime Minister Allen Chastanet Tuesday on his official Facebook page.

“As a Government, we have worked hard together with our diplomatic allies and other international partners to make more scholarships available for young Saint Lucians,” he explained.

“As of last year, our friends from Taiwan increased the number of scholarships available to Saint Lucians by 50%,” Chastanet disclosed.

According to the PM, this year ‘our amazing friends from Taiwan’ have increased the number of scholarship awardees even further.

He expressed thanks to Ambassador Chen and his hardworking team at the Taiwanese Embassy here in Saint Lucia for their support in making this a reality.

“Sending best wishes to the 27 young Saint Lucians who will be heading off to pursue higher education in Taiwan this year. We will be cheering and praying for your success,” Chastanet said.
