Two Arrested For Recent Soufriere Shooting

Saint Lucia police have arrested two individuals and charged them in connection with a shooting incident in Soufriere recently.

The two have been identified as Gordon Pascal and Torrel Pascal of Fond Bernier, Soufriere.

They are suspects in a shooting that occurred on July 3 in the same community.

A male individual sustained a gunshot wound to the waist in that incident.

Gordon and Torrel Pascal have been remanded in custody until August 4, 2020.

It was not immediately clear whether the two are  man related.

Just this week Acting Police Commissioner, Milton Desir disclosed that Special Service Unit officers will be deployed to Soufriere in response to a spike in gun violence.

The disclosure came as the MP for the area and community leaders announced that  they had organised a meeting that which rival groups pledged to make peace.
