Two Bikers Injured, Hospitalised After Separate Collisions

Two bikers sustained injuries as a result of separate collisions Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

According to the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS), an ambulance transported a male individual to the Soufriere Hospital after his motorcycle collided with a van about 6.15 pm on Wednesday at New Development, Soufriere.

The patient was later transferred to the OKEU Hospital.

He sustained multiple facial injuries, a broken finger and head injuries, emergency officials said.

And on Thursday morning after 8.00 am, another motorcyclist sustained injuries when his bike collided with  an SUV at Marisule.

As a result, an ambulance from the Gros Islet fire station transported him to the OKEU Hospital.

Emergency responders said the patient had ‘leg trauma’.

But they said the injuries did not appear to be serious.
