Saint Lucia police are investigating the recovery of two bodies from the sea in separate incidents Friday and Saturday, senior law enforcement officials have confirmed.
Saint Lucia Marine Police on Friday afternoon recovered the body of a female from the sea in the Cul de Sac area.
The deceased has been identified as Laurina Daniel of Ti Rocher, Castries.
A senior law enforcement official told St Lucia Times that a marine police patrol vessel found the body about 3.45 pm, after receiving a call from the Vigie Lighthouse.
The official explained that for now, the discovery is being treated as a suspicious death.
There are no further details at this time.
According to reports, the police are also investigating the suspected drowning of Vernand Emmanuel, said to be in his sixties.
Law enforcement officials say he was an out patient of the Mental Wellness Hospital.
They told St Lucia Times that no foul play is suspected in Emmanuel’s death.
