Emergency responders rushed two male individuals to hospital Tuesday morning after two vehicles collided at Savannes Bay, Vieux Fort.
Eyewitnesses said the collision involved an SUV and a van bearing an eZone marking.
Fire service officials said the Vieux Fort fire station received a call in relation to the accident about 10.20 am.
According to the officials, on arriving on the scene they discovered that as a result of the collision between two vehicles travelling in opposite directions, the drivers who were the sole occupants each had to be extricated because they were trapped amid the mangled metal of their vehicles.
After emergency responders extricated the two men, they transported them to hospital.
The responders said the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
