Two Males Wounded In Vieux Fort Shooting

Two males sustained gunshot wounds as a result of a shooting incident in Vieux Fort on Sunday.

According to eyewitnesses, it occurred on New Dock road about 6.15 am when gunmen opened fire at the duo.

As a result, both victims sustained gunshot wounds to the leg.

And one of them, a 22 year old, is currently in hospital.

However, responders say the second victim declined medical treatment.

Residents of the area where the shooting occurred believe the gun violence was the result of a feud between rival gangs.

Video recordings in connection with the Vieux Fort shooting have appeared on social media.

One of the videos, which is seven seconds long, shows a bullet hole in the glass door of a structure.

“All dere dem man bursting shots messieurs,” a male voice observes on the recording.

“And they end up breaking the glass,” the man asserts.

Another video pans some houses and records the sounds of  dogs barking, gunshots and raised voices.

“Dem man deh – dey running deh. Watch dem deh,” a male voice states in the 18 second recording.

Vieux Fort police are investigating.
